Brooke + Pat’s Fun Wedding at Tailwater Lodge
I was so excited to photograph a wedding at Tailwater Lodge in Altmar, NY twice in one weekend! I actually got the chance to swing into their rehearsal dinner during some downtime the night before to say hello. Brooke and Pat had such a laidback and fun wedding with plenty of laughter and even some surprises! It was a gorgeous day for a fall wedding in Central New York with the happy couple.
Brooke and Pat had a pretty relaxing time getting ready for the day. I loved the floral wedding invitations that Pat created, so I made sure to incorporate them into the details. Brooke gave gifts to all of her bridesmaids. Meanwhile, Pat and his groomsmen were taking full advantage of the game room at the venue.
We chose a secluded spot in the woods for their first look. The greenery was starting to turn yellow for fall, which tied in perfectly with the sunflowers in Brooke’s bouquet. Their wedding party looked on as Brooke tapped Pat on the back and they both got a little emotional. What a sweet moment! Afterward, we went straight into photos with their wedding party, followed by family pictures. I grabbed a few photos of just the two of them, then Pat borrowed a fish from a nearby fisherman (which I obviously photographed as well).
Their outdoor wedding ceremony started with a bang. Instead of the traditional Flower Girl, Brooke and Pat had a Beer Boy. He ran up the aisle, dancing and handing out beers to the guests. It was a great way to set the vibe for the fun wedding ahead. Pat’s grandmother said some touching words before Brooke and Pat read their personal vows. Everyone was feeling a little emotional at that point, and the duo sealed their vows with a kiss.
While guests were enjoying the cocktail hour, I took Brooke and Pat out for a few more photos. We even grabbed some sneaky ones that hinted at the big surprise to come! We wrapped things up in time for them to enjoy some of cocktail hour with their family and friends. The reception began, and they went straight into their first dance, followed by parent dances. We heard speeches from the Maid of Honor, Best Man, and Brooke’s dad before dinner arrived.
After dinner, Brooke and Pat took to the center of the dance floor and Pat went searching for Brooke’s garter. But instead of finding a garter, he found a onesie, announcing that Brooke was pregnant! Everyone was so shocked and excited as he held up the onesie to the crowd.
Guests danced the night away while The Swooners played all the best wedding hits. Pat, along with his cousins and uncles, joined the band for a bit to sing. The crowd went absolutely wild! It was the perfect way to end this super fun wedding day.
I loved being able to document all of the moments that made Brooke and Pat’s wedding so special. I wish them and their little one the best as they enter this new chapter as a family!
