Caleigh + Kenny’s Spring Engagement Photos at Green Lakes State Park
Caleigh and Kenny reached out to inquire about taking spring engagement photos. If you live in Central New York, you know how far away spring can feel when you’re suffering through the coldest parts of winter. I didn’t want to make any assumptions about spring’s arrival, so we waited until we were sure winter had passed before setting a date. It felt like forever, but it was well worth the wait. When we arrived at Green Lakes State Park for the session, Caleigh was most excited about all the greenery on the trees, and I was gushing over the blue color of the water.
They both started off the session in green outfits, which looked so good against the forest backdrop. It was a slightly overcast day, but the light came in through the trees so perfectly and added a deep contrast to the images that I just love. We explored the park and got to know each other. I learned that Kenny is from the area, and it’s where they both live now, but Caleigh is original from New Jersey, which is where the wedding will be held.
We snapped some photos on the little beach along the lake as they happily chatted about getting engaged while on a trip to Hawaii. Afterward, we took a short break and they changed into more casual outfits. We headed over to the other side of the lake. It’s amazing how a small change in perspective can completely change the feel of the photos. The water always looks so calm and blue from that side!
They brought along a few props, so we took some pictures with some personalized coffee cups, then a couple with their favorite books. Incorporating details like this are a great way to make your engagement photos feel more you, so it’s always be something I recommend to my clients.
What a delightful day spent with Caleigh and Kenny! I wish you both so much happiness through wedding planning and starting your lives together!
