Janet + Ray’s Charming Wedding at Springside Inn
Janet and Ray planned a charming wedding at Springside Inn in Auburn, NY, and I was excited to be a part of it. The whole day had vibes of a traditional wedding, while keeping things laid back and joy-filled.
I always love the start of a wedding day. The excitement is palpable when we arrive. Having photographers bustling around and snapping pictures really kicks things into high gear and makes it all feel more real. When we arrived at the Springside Inn for Janet and Ray’s wedding day, I started with the detail photos. She had flower petals that would later be used for a petal toss, which made a great background for their invitations and rings.
Janet looked stunning in her lace dress. She even had a hairpiece that was created from a crown her mom wore on her wedding day. Once everyone was ready, Janet shared a very sweet first look with her dad. We had a few spare minutes after that, which I used to sew a button back onto one of the guys’ jackets. To say I’m always prepared and willing to help on a wedding day would be an understatement!
We all piled into the limo to head over to the ceremony location, St. Francis Xavier Church in Marcellus, NY. This adorable church was the perfect setting for their vows. They had a traditional service and Catholic mass, which ended with guests showering the newlyweds with flower petals as they left the church.
Family photos went smoothly, then we headed back to Springside Inn, with a stop at Emerson Park on the way for more photos with the wedding party.
By the time we arrived back at the venue, the cocktail hour had started. Janet, Ray, and I stayed outside to get wedding photos of them on the gorgeous grounds at Springside Inn. I was especially fond of all the hydrangeas and string lights - they gave the whole area a classic summer-in-New-England feeling.
Janet and Ray were announced into the reception, which led them straight into their first dance. Speeches were given by Janet’s dad, Ray’s sisters, and the Best Man, then dinner was served. Afterward, they cut their adorable cake, complete with a silhouette cake topper of them and their pets.
Once the dance floor was open, Visa Versa Entertainment kept it hopping the rest of the night. Janet was particularly excited by all the Abba hits, but everyone there was in a celebratory mood and ready to dance.
We had so much fun with Janet and Ray on their wedding day. I wish you both so much love and happiness as you start your lives together as husband and wife!
