Jessica + George’s Barn Wedding in Cazenovia, NY
Every time I’ve found myself at Windridge Estate in Cazenovia NY, it’s because I’ve had the pleasure of photographing these perfectly intimate weddings. They’re my absolute favorite! Jessica and George’s barn wedding was a small, relaxed affair involving a dog, some beautiful wedding florals, and plenty of joy emanating from this wonderful couple.
The day started off super laid back as Jessica’s hair and makeup was finished in the Farmer’s Cottage. I took some time upstairs laying out and photographing her details, which included blue accents and a fun pair of rose gold Keds. Jessica was dressed in a classic V-neck gown covered in tulle and lace applique with a blush undertone that I adore! Her mom helped with the final touches and the duo shared an emotional moment.
Meanwhile, I sent Brandon to the White Stone Barn to photograph George getting ready. Their dog Sam was right there with him the whole time, sporting a matching blue bowtie. George and his groomsmen were ready a little early, so they killed some time by playing bocce ball in the yard.
On our way to the first look, we ran into Sam, who was so excited to see Jessica. I love when couples have the opportunity to include their dog on their wedding day! Pet-friendly venues are becoming more and more common, and they’re so cherished by my dog-loving clients.
Jessica and Geoge shared a sweet first look, and spent some time just taking it all in. Afterward, we casually transitioned into Bride and Groom portraits, wandering the picturesque property together, snapping pictures along the way. When my couples decide to have a first look, I typically try to block out 2 hours of time before the ceremony so we can fit in as much as possible, including wedding party and family photos. This allows them to do nothing but relax and mingle with their guests during their cocktail hour.
Their ceremony took place under a huge oak tree, which provided some shade and a nice leafy backdrop for the outdoor wedding. George’s sister officiated the ceremony, which added a special touch to an already-intimate event.
The details around the Estate were so heartfelt and personalized. From the florals to the dessert table, and even custom koozies featuring a sketch of their pets, it was all perfection. The cocktail hour snacks consisted of a gorgeous charcuterie spread assembled by Scratch Farmhouse Catering. It was a delight to watch everyone mingling and enjoying each other’s company!
Jessica and George listened to some wonderful toasts from family and friends, then enjoyed a delicious dinner, and cut their cake. When we had a little downtime, I pulled them back outside for some golden hour portraits by the field. The setting sun made the tall grass glow and I love how these turned out!
I’m so happy I had to chance to work with Jessica and George, along with their amazing team of central NY wedding vendors. Wishing you two all the best in the world!
