Justine + Luke’s Fall Engagement Photos at Mendon Ponds Park
Justine, Luke, and I go way back. Like, so far back that we all remember each other’s awkward teen years. Justine and I even roomed together during our Freshman year at college. There’s not much better than shooting fall engagement photos for people you know that well, so we set the date and met up for some fun at Mendon Ponds Park near Rochester, NY.
Mendon Ponds Park is a huge 2,500 acre county park that features glacially-formed ponds and land structures. It makes for a stunning place to do fall engagement photos because you get to work with woods, fields, hills, and waterfront all in one location. Justine and Luke liked that it wasn’t too far from their apartment, where they’ve spent plenty of time growing their relationship.
Fall foliage is always a big reason that people choose fall engagement photos, and Mendon Ponds Park sure did deliver! We took our time exploring and taking pictures in different areas of the park, and scoping out the best locations to capture those vibrant oranges and reds. I love that they brought a blanket to the shoot so we could get some intimate seated photos too.
They specifically asked to take some photos in the hilly field, and when we arrived it was perfection. I even had them do some spinning to capture a little “the hills are alive” vibes. Once everyone recovered from the spinning, Justine stumbled across some wild daisies, which are her favorite. I snapped some photos of them with her beautiful ring.
I think their kind souls and loving demeanor toward each other really shone through during their session. I can’t wait for their wedding this fall!
