Annual Morse Family Photo Session in Central NY
There is something I absolutely love about photographing the same family year after year, so I was thrilled when Kayley reached out in 2022 to schedule fall family photos after we originally connected in 2021. Their first family photo session was at Upper Onondaga Park in Syracuse NY, then they chose Green Lakes State Park for the following year.
The Morse’s are the sweetest family, and when you have children as young as theirs, it’s so important to get updated photos each year. So much changes day-by-day; kids grow fast and new furry friends are added to the family. But taking a step back is the only way to really see the changes over time. This is why I’m a huge advocate for having photos taken, even when there’s no special occasion!
Upper Onondaga Park is a great place for family photos. Between the bridge, gazebo, pond, and general beauty, it’s hard to run out of good locations to use as a backdrop. We lucked out too with peak fall colors during our family photo session! This time around, they opted for a more traditional fall setting at Green Lakes State Park. We explored the park and wandered through the woods. Their children giggled endlessly while having fun with each other. I always make sure to get posed family photos, but letting the kids just be themselves always results in the best smiles!
We made sure to get all different combinations of family members - the kids by themselves, with mom or dad, with the dogs, and of course Kayley and Wyatt alone together. These couple photos without the kids climbing all over are so important for reconnection and remembering where your family started out.
Having annual family photos is a wonderful way to preserve a moment in time while creating simple memories with your growing family. It gets even better as I get to know my families year after year and personalize the sessions more and more over time.
