Traditions at the Links Wedding, Joneshia & Anthony, NY Wedding Photographer
Jojo and Tony’s 1920s themed wedding at Traditions at the Links was the perfect example of having a wedding on a budget and still putting together an amazing wedding.
Jojo is so sweet she’s offered to chat to other brides with a smaller budget on how to create a high end feeling wedding. If you are interested in learning more, let me know and I can connect the two of you!
The girls got ready in the bridal suite at Traditions at the Links, finishing up last minute details, and the guys played pool in another room while they waited. Jojo and Tony exchanged letters with a shot, delivered on a gold tray - the perfect 20’s touch. Everyone donned vintage, flapper apparel arriving to the wedding, excited to celebrate with these two!
Before the ceremony, the two of them were blindfolded and brought to the ballroom for a group prayer lead by their officiant, with family and friends surrounding them. The stress of the day instantly disappeared on their faces as they held hands and danced the jitters out. This is a perfect way to be able to touch and talk to each other without seeing one another before your ceremony if you do not want to do a first look!
Their ceremony under the pergola was made complete by one of Jojo's brother singing Here and Now by Luther Vandross. With their hands tied together by rope tying tradition, and blessings from both of their moms, these two became husband and wife.
After the ceremony, we got stunning portraits of them out on the golf course before their reception, and it was in record time! 45 minutes for family, bridal party, and bride & groom?! The grand ballroom was transformed into a scene straight out of the Great Gatsby. They had first dances with an elaborately staged dance with Jojo's dad, fitting with the theme of the day. Dinner and dancing followed for the rest of the night, ending with the most elegant red velvet cake with black and gold fondant and a sparkler grand exit true to Gatsby style.
