Caty + Jeremy’s Field Engagement Photos in Oswego NY
Caty and Jeremy reached out to schedule an engagement session, and I was thrilled to hear from them! I had taken some photos with Caty’s family a couple of years back, but she was engaged now, and the field engagement photos they had planned were right up my alley! They were about to close on a brand new house and wanted to take photos on their property in Oswego NY. I loved this idea so much, not only because it added a personal touch to their story, but because it guaranteed they would end up with one-of-a-kind photos.
When the day finally arrived, it was forecasted to storm. But we took our chances and went ahead with the session anyway. We completely lucked out that day, with just a little patch of rain that we were able to wait out inside the house.
Caty and Jeremy wanted their dogs included in some of the photos, and they stole the show. One of the best things about taking their engagement photos at home was we could easily grab the dogs from the house when they were needed, without having to bring an extra person along to wrangle them.
They told me leading up to their session that they were awkward in front of the camera. That doesn’t bother me at all (I know all the tricks to shake the awkwardness), but it turns out that wasn’t even true! Their photos felt completely effortless. Halfway through, Jeremy was even making suggestions for poses and backdrops. I love it when my couples get into it!
We ventured around, exploring every corner of their property together, and I was so impressed by the variety we ended up with. I had such a great time documenting this milestone for Caty and Jeremy at their own home. I highly recommend this to others who might be considering a less-traditional location!
