Miranda + Amel’s Traditional Engagement Photos at Upper Onondaga Park
When we started planning Miranda and Amel’s fall engagement photos, they asked for a location with gorgeous scenery and a garden. I was more than happy to suggest one of my favorite places - Upper Onondaga Park.
We met up on a day that was cloudy, but beautiful nonetheless, and had so much fun exploring every inch of that park together. There’s a small grove of willow trees that have such a whimsical feel. I knew I wanted to incorporate them into the photos, so that’s where we started. Having the lake peeking through the branches in the background made the willow tree photos even more special. We ended our time there with the most precious dip-kiss. I adore how sweet these two are!
Taking pictures of Miranda and Amel was effortless, and naturally, I got to know them a little bit more as we ventured around and chatted. We strolled all along the lake from one side to the other, which means we ended up with a lot of walking photos, but it’s such an easy way for couples to feel casual in front of the camera. We ended up by the brick building where there’s an arch walkway, and I love how those photos turned out.
Miranda had asked for a location with flowers, and Upper Onondaga Park delivered! We found a little garden of native blooms and some floral planters, which gave the perfect magical feel to end their session with. I chose the best and brightest orange flower in the bunch to take some photos of Miranda’s engagement ring before we parted ways.
I was headed home afterward, but they were planning to hang around Syracuse for dinner, so of course I was more than happy to offer my opinion on the best Mexican places in town. I can’t wait for their June wedding, which will be at the stunning 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel!
