Dana + Ben’s Elegant Wedding at Traditions at the Links
Dana and Ben planned an elegant wedding with a traditional Catholic wedding ceremony at Assumption Church in Syracuse, followed by a ballroom wedding reception at Traditions at the Links. It was a crisp winter day, but we were blessed with tons of sunshine, which brought a beautiful glow to their wedding photos.
Dana got ready at her childhood home. She looked stunning as she got into her dress and added all the finishing touches. I loved the classic bridal feel of her heels, and the simple bouquet of white roses that she carried. Meanwhile, Ben was getting ready at their house. He was wearing custom socks that featured a charicature drawing of each of their dogs’ faces. I made sure to snap a few photos of this detail, along with some pictures of the dogs in their special wedding bandanas.
Once everyone was ready, we all headed to Assumption Church. The look on Ben’s face as Dana walked down the aisle was priceless - he was so excited. They had a traditional Catholic service which involved a lot of heartfelt words and stolen glances between Dana and Ben. Afterward, we knocked out the family photos, then took some portraits of the newlyweds both inside and outside of the church before heading to Traditions at the Links.
Once we arrived, Dana and Ben got to have a private sneak peek of the reception space. It was absolutely stunning with the vaulted ceilings and elegant details. The gold Chiavari chairs and black tablecloths gave the space the perfect modern wedding vibes.
We headed outside for Bride and Groom photos. It was a chilly February day, but their huge smiles and the bright sunshine really warmed up all the photos. We made sure to take some pictures by the firepit, and some of Dana and Ben on the stairs and out front before heading back inside to warm up.
Dana and Ben started their reception with a first dance, serenaded by their friends who sang and played guitar. What a fun way to make a traditional first dance into something special and memorable! They followed that up with parent dances, then we heard speeches from the Maid of Honor, Best Man, and Ben’s dad.
After dinner, they cut their wedding cake. They even surprised a friend of theirs with a birthday cake to celebrate his 30th birthday. Once he blew out the candles, everyone was invited onto the dance floor, and the party began.
Overall, this was such a wonderful day. I loved being a part of Dana and Ben’s wedding and documenting all their magical memories!
