Elise + John's Indoor Winter Engagement Photos

Contrary to popular belief, winter engagement photos don’t have to include waiting for snow or being cold the entire shoot. Elise and John chose instead to have their winter engagement photos taken at their wedding venue, Sinclair of Skaneateles. This venue has an amazing style and plenty of locations that make it a no-brainer for some cozy indoor engagement photos. (Don’t worry - we went outside for a few as well!)

Elise knew about me because I photographed her brother’s elopement, along with a super fun styled shoot involving him and his wife. She eagerly reached out shortly after getting engaged so we could plan her and John’s winter engagement photos.

This shoot was my first time at Sinclair of Skaneateles and it was so gorgeous! The third-floor prep area was one of my favorite spaces, filled with vintage furniture, exposed brick, and natural wood. We made good use of all the spots to sit, including the fun rope swings. Elise and John couldn’t stop laughing while they slid on the wood floors in their socks.

We ended up with a sunny day, and the large windows in the reception space made the whole room glow as the sun started to set. We took a few minutes to practice their first dance, and I could instantly envision their wedding day and how special it’ll be. We headed outside for an epic champagne pop to end our day together.

All of Elise and John’s winter engagement photos make it clear just how much fun we had. The entire session was filled with smiles, laughter, and love. I absolutely can’t wait for their wedding at Sinclair of Skaneateles next fall!
