Scully Family Photo Session in Fall

I was so excited to hear from Rachel and Patrick about scheduling a family photo session. The original plan was to meet up at her family’s Chaumont Bay cottages where they got married in 2018, but Covid had other plans of course.

A few months passed and I had a trip planned to visit some friends in Boston, which involved driving right by where Rachel and Patrick live in Connecticut. We swapped schedules and planned a family photo session with their adorable new baby Rylan.

We chose Roseland Park in Woodstock, CT for their family session. It was a great choice and truly didn’t disappoint with a beautiful lake, some woods, a gazebo, and a barn, all within walking distance. The owners were so sweet allowing us to take photos there and check out inside the barn. We had a wonderful time catching up, snapping pictures, and Rylan was such a good sport through it all.

In the photos, you’ll see Rylan holding a small stocking with the letter S on it. Rachel and Patrick used that stocking in their previous year’s Christmas card photo when Rachel was pregnant with Rylan. It was such a treat to incorporate it into their family photo session. They also requested a photo with all of their hands on top of each other to document just how tiny Rylan is.

Some of my favorite pictures from their family session were the individual mom and baby photos. Rachel was wearing a necklace with Rylan’s name on it, so it was fun focusing on that for a few shots. The photos of Rachel kissing him on the cheek are perfect, especially with his adorable plaid shirt and her gorgeous dark locks. I can’t forget about photos with Dad as well! Nothing made Rylan laugh quite like goofing around with Patrick. It was so sweet to watch.
