Janet + Ray’s Sunset Engagement Photos on Skaneateles Lake
Janet and Ray opted for casual fall engagement photos on Skaneateles Lake, and I was happy to oblige, as they’re the sweetest couple! We managed to find some time on our busy autumn calendars to schedule their engagement photos, and the weather and atmosphere were just perfect. The water lapped up on the shore at Clift Park while the setting sun glowed through the turning trees.
We started off in the gazebo with a few shots to get loosened up, then ventured around the park and waterfront area. I loved how the sunlight looked along the water’s edge, so I had them do a few laps walking up and down the shoreline.
The fountain in Clift Park was still on for the year, so we utilized that area of the park, taking photos in front of and around the fountain. Janet and Ray spotted a rose bush that was somehow still blooming this late in the fall, so I used it to snap some photos of Janet’s gorgeous engagement ring!
The golden hour really showed up for this session, and the light was amazing! I loved how the sun twinkled across the water and brought out the colors of the fall leaves in the trees.
Speaking of showing up, Janet and Ray were so easy to work with. Their silliness with each other resulted in some amazing candid moments, and they took direction so well when I put them into different poses. There was so much laughter, and it really made the whole session feel really light and fun!
We found a large patch of grass, and at this point, they were pros at taking direction, so I had them run to each other, pull the other along, spin around, and had Ray lift Janet in the air.
We ended the session with photos of them walking down the street hand-in-hand. It felt fitting since they’re local to Skaneateles. I hope that this session felt extra special to them, because it was a blast for me. I can’t wait for their August wedding at Springside Inn!
