Jessica + George’s Rainy Engagement Photos at Delphi Falls
Jessica and George wanted to do a little waterfall photo shoot at Delphi Falls for their engagement session. They would be visiting the area for a few days in July, so our window was short, but I got them on my calendar. When the day finally arrived, it looked like our option was to either reschedule the session or take some very rainy engagement photos. When I reached out and asked what they wanted to do, their response was fast and confident: go ahead with the shoot. They didn’t really have the time to reschedule before leaving town, so they figured why not just go with the flow. I absolutely adore an adventurous couple who is down for anything!
When I met them at Delphi Falls, it had already started sprinkling. We ignored the rain and snapped some of the classic waterfall engagement photos they had in mind. The two of them were so easy to photograph. Their energy and infectious laughter came through in so many of the pictures!
Suddenly, the skies opened up and it started to pour! Instead of running for shelter, Jessica and George just kept smiling. They were completely soaked through but had the best attitudes, and made the whole experience a ton of fun, laughing the entire time.
I grabbed a couple of clear umbrellas from my car. Sure, they didn’t help with keeping Jessica and George dry (it was way too late for that!), but they added some depth to the images and create a super dreamy more intimate feel in the photographs. After the rain died down, the colors and greenery were so saturated that we just had to grab a few final photos before parting ways.
I’m always willing to reschedule a session if there’s at least a 50% chance of rain, but Jessica and George’s rainy engagement photos are proof that you can have stunning and personal photos no matter the weather! I can’t wait to see those infectious smiles again in July at their Red Barn 20 Windridge Estate wedding!
