Kara & Ryan’s Adventurous Fall Engagement Session in Syracuse, NY
Shortly after Kara and Ryan booked me as their Syracuse, NY wedding photographer, we began planning their engagement photos. They chose the stunning Green Lakes State Park as the location because they loved the vibrant colors of the trees—and it’s easy to see why! We met on a crisp October afternoon for their session, and it turned out to be a beautiful day despite the forecast calling for rain.
One of my favorite things about working with couples like Kara and Ryan is their adventurous spirit. They were so excited to explore the park with me, and we discovered so many beautiful photo spots along the way. Green Lakes State Park is a dream location for engagement photos in Syracuse, with its iconic blue-green lakes and scenic trails. As we wandered, we chatted and got to know each other better. I even found out that I’d be photographing a wedding for one of their friends later that year—such a small world!
As the session went on, we made our way around the lake, stopping for photos at some truly breathtaking spots. One of my favorite moments was near Dead Man’s Point, where the lake created a stunning backdrop for their photos. Later, we headed back toward the beach and finished up near the historic Old Administration Building. The fall leaves were absolutely perfect, and I couldn’t resist incorporating them into a close-up shot of Kara’s gorgeous engagement ring.
Kara and Ryan’s engagement session was such a joy to capture, and I’m even more excited for their upcoming winter wedding in beautiful Skaneateles, NY. If you’re looking for a Syracuse wedding photographer who loves capturing authentic and adventurous moments, I’d love to hear from you. Whether it’s at Green Lakes, Skaneateles, or another incredible Central New York location, let’s create memories you’ll cherish forever.
