Kara + Zach’s Traditional Wedding at Timber Banks
When I walked into the Bride’s getting ready room that morning, “Lover” by Taylor Swift was playing through the speakers. It felt like the perfect song to encapsulate the whimsical day ahead of us, setting the stage for Kara and Zach’s traditional wedding at Timber Banks. It was the perfect way to celebrate the Cinderella-like love story of this sweet couple.
I got down to business, taking detail photos and chatting with Kara and her crew. Zach had a letter dropped off at her room, so we paused getting ready to snap a few pictures of her reading it. It was very sweet! Once everyone was dressed to the nines, we all headed off to Assumption Church in Syracuse NY.
Kara and Zach had planned a traditional wedding ceremony with a full Catholic mass. Zach and Kara’s mom walked halfway down the aisle together, where Zach anxiously waited to be reunited with his Bride.
During the ceremony, the priest asked if anyone knew where Kara and Zach went on their first date. Most of the people in attendance knew how they met, but only a few knew where their first date was, so one of Kara’s bridesmaids shouted out “Chipotle,” which was correct! The priest surprised everyone when he pulled out a Chipotle gift card and gave it to her. What a fun moment, and a great way to personalize the ceremony!
After the church wedding ceremony and family photos, the three of us headed a few blocks over to Franklin Square Park for a few quick pictures of the newlyweds. The sun was shining, Kara’s dress looked stunning, and both of them were so happy and relaxed.
We made the drive back to Timber Banks, where their wedding party was waiting to take some photos. Kara and Zach hopped in the back of a golf cart, and we zipped around the property to take advantage of some of the beautiful backgrounds and settings.
Next stop was the cocktail hour so Kara and Zach would mingle with their guests for a bit. The reception space was decorated with a mix of traditional, vintage, and rustic elements. I learned that Kara made the table numbers herself using watercolors. I love personal details like this!
Once the reception began, they were introduced, then transitioned straight into their first dance and parent dances before toasts and dinner. After dinner, we had a few minutes to duck out back for some quick sunset photos. It’s always such a blessing when my couples make photographs of the two of them a priority on their wedding day!
After cutting the cake and taking a Le Moyne College group photo, everyone danced the night away. We ended things with a lovely sparkler exit. I absolutely loved this day! I wish you both so much happiness together.
