When Rachel and Jeff reached out about photographing their fall engagement photos, it was like a blast from the past! Rachel and I were in elementary school together, so it was wonderful to hear from her, and I’m so happy she reached out after getting engaged. We discussed locations that would be perfect for some cozy fall photos, and we all agreed that Fallbrook Lodge was the spot. Rachel used to frequent the Fallbrook Recreation Center with an old childhood friend, so it holds special memories for her. As for me, it just feels like home.

We started their session by exploring the field. The fall colors in Central New York are really like nothing else, and I loved how they were showing off for our session! Rachel and Jeff have such a fun and lighthearted relationship, which was apparent by all the laughter and natural smiles I was able to capture. We worked through a few easy prompts to help them feel more comfortable, but it didn’t take long until they were acting like themselves in front of the camera.

Rachel loves fall just as much as I do, so I made sure to incorporate as much fall color and as many fall leaves as I could. I used some leaves to prop up her engagement ring for a few ring shots, then I had Rachel and Jeff toss leaves in the air for some fun photos!

Next, we headed down to the creek and took some pictures on the bridge and by the water. It’s such a stunning location that truly feels like nowhere else in the region. After that, we walked along some of the trails before ending up by the barn.

The sun peeked out for a few beautiful sunset engagement photos, then I had them change into their second outfits - Buffalo Bills jerseys. Jeff didn’t have much preference when it came to the where or when of the engagement session, but his one request was that we set aside a few minutes to take photos in their jerseys. And they turned out so cute! Watching games together has been a big part of their relationship, so it was wonderful that we could include this special touch in the photographs.
