Cabrey Family Photography + Newborn Lifestyle Photos

One of my favorite things about being a wedding photographer is getting to not only follow along with my couples’ life journeys, but having the privilege of being a part of them through photoshoots over the years. I have been there for Lindsay and Mike as they became husband and wife, and have loved being their family photographer as they grow their family.

I met Lindsay and Mike in 2016, which feels like ages ago. Their backyard nuptials took place during my very first season as a wedding photographer. They called me up for a family photo session after their daughter Paige was born in 2019. It’s been years since I saw them, but I was thrilled when they got in touch again last year for some family photography and newborn lifestyle photos of their son Colin.

We decided to return to the scene of their wedding, Mike’s parent’s house. It was just as stunning as I remembered it, yet everything felt so different photographing this intimate family session compared to a bustling wedding. The weather called for rain, but we felt confident that we could work around it by squeezing the shoot into the morning hours. And lucky we did because the overcast skies were perfect!

Lindsay and Paige showed up wearing a lovely goldenrod yellow color, which made for a sunny pop of color on an otherwise gray day. They also matched the flowers on the property, and I love how the color stood out again the dark green foliage in the garden.

I made sure to snap pictures of each parent with the kids, then we all headed over to the exact location where Lindsay and Mike said “I do.” What a sweet full-circle moment watching them interact with their children in that spot.

We headed inside for a few more photos of Paige and Colin, and to grab some newborn lifestyle photos with the whole family cuddled on the couch together, and a few candid shots of Paige and her Dad.
