Jenna + Zach’s Winter Photo Shoot in Downtown Syracuse

Jenna and Zach booked me as their wedding photographer, then wasted no time planning a winter photo shoot for their engagement session. I truly love winter engagement photos! The light is usually beautiful, and you end up with this lovely sense of coziness in the images. We settled on doing the shoot in downtown Syracuse because of the variety of locations and backgrounds. This would allow us to make the most of our time together (and get out of the cold sooner!).

We started off in front of a stone building in Clinton Square. Jenna wanted photos by the large pillars, and I loved the arched windows and gigantic hanging lights in the background. It’s no surprise that the architecture in downtown Syracuse is a favorite of my couples’!

Jenna, Zach, and I made our way around the stone building, then all the way around Clinton Square. We made a pit stop in front of an ivy-covered building since it was some of the only greenery to be found in the middle of winter. After that, we wandered over to Hanover Square to add some variety to our setting.

The photos of Zach spinning Jenna, and the two of them walking across the street turned out so cute. We looped back around to where we started to grab a few more of them in front of the grand pillars now that Jenna had changed jackets. They were stunning! I took a few close-up photos of her engagement ring, then we all went our separate ways to warm up and put our feet up.

Jenna and Zach’s wedding is in June, and I already know it’s going to be the best - I can’t wait!
