The White Family Extended Family Photos at Green Lakes State Park
The only thing better than taking extended family photos, is photographing families that haven’t seen each other in years (I’m talking… a decade!). Allison’s parents and her sister’s family had a visit planned for November, where they would be coming from the Philippines. Allison hadn’t seen any of them since 2012, so this was a big deal for everyone, and she wanted to commemorate the occasion. She found me on Instagram, loved the vibrant and fun feel of my images, and reached out about having some professional photos taken.
During the planning process, I shared with Allison some galleries of past family sessions in the area. She loved the idea of doing theirs at Green Lakes State Park. So we had the date and location… all we needed was the family members! Then, right before the session date, Allison found out she was pregnant. What a fun twist to add to a visit that was already so special!
I loved coming up with different combinations of family members for the photos. The kids had a great time running around, especially the ones who had never experienced Central New York weather. Thankfully it wasn’t too cold! Once we got some group photos under our belt, the youngest kids were anxious to go play. I followed them around for a bit to capture some candid photos. It was great to see them open up and showing off their personalities. While the kids played, I took some special early maternity photos of Allison and her husband.
Allison, it was a pleasure getting to know you and your family and document this memorable time!
Do you live in the Central New York area? I’d love to photograph your family - big or small!
